Trio for Clarinet, Violin, and Piano (2002) 16 mins. I. Allegro moderato II. Andante III. Vivace
The language of the Trio uses tonality and thematic material in a quasi 18th/19th century art music tradition. The result is a multi-movement work of rounded three-part forms and fast-slow-fast contrast that also contains some “spikey” dissonance. Hopefully, this Trio is challenging as well as “fun” to play.

Lullaby (2010) 2' Piano Solo
| |
Intermezzo (2002) 4' from
"Intermezzo" alternates between lyric and dramatic moods. Introspective and nostalgic in overall tone, this piece requires serious finger technique and tonal control yet should not give the impression of being virtuosic for it's own sake.
| |
Toccata (2002) 4' from
"Toccata" is fast, light and fluid. A technical challenge, of course, but with the virtuoso with a small hand in mind.
| |
Habanera (2002) 4' 30 from
"Habanera" is blatant homage to Carmen's aria "Love is like a wild wood bird" from Bizet's opera. Sensual and sophisticated, the image is of Parisian Apache dancers.

| |
Visions (2002) 12' for Piano Solo
Three contrasting moods for piano solo-- from the nostalgic "Intermezzo" to the sensual"Habanera" and finally the brisk "Toccata", these character pieces present technical challenges without being obviously virtuosic. "Visions" may be performed as a set or any of the three movements can stand alone.
